Textile fibers resistant to biodestruction is a way to improve indoor ecological conditions

The aim of research was to observe and describe biodestructions fabrics that usually used inside a home, estimate the destruction (total number “N” index “K”). samples were placed into thermostat in sterile Petri dishes on moistened filter paper order stimulate microflora occurred fibers. Incubation carried out at +24-28 °C, humidity 90-100% exposed for 8 month. examined with microscope. As result study fiber’s damage, types damage identified as follow: layering, fretting, mottling, fouling, spotting, swelling, granular disintegration, delamination, thinning, fiber wall. Initially most destructed detected sample natural silk hemp according highest value K. However, after months exposure, this turned be resistant biodegradation. data obtained based evaluation biostability made from various textile fibers showed usage silk, polyester able supply resistance biodegradation by spontaneous microflora.
